William A. Haley, son of author Alex Haley, will speak Monday at the annual meeting of the Depressive and Manic Depressive Association of Southeast Missouri.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in conference rooms A & B at St. Francis Medical Center.
Haley, of St. Louis, is vice president of the St. Louis chapter of the National Black Child Development Institute.
Haley designs and implements prejudice reduction and affirmative action.
He will speak about "Considerations and Minority Concerns in Treating the Mentally Ill with Emphasis on including Minorities in Support Groups."
Haley began his professional career with the Army, spending a great deal of his career working in race relations and equal opportunity. He has lectured extensively in the United States and Europe on the subjects of equal opportunity, prejudice reduction and African American history.
The program is open to the public.
