The Jackson Board of Aldermen set the 2003 tax levy rates at Monday night's meeting, leaving them unchanged from the current figures.
Jackson residents living within the Jackson Library District will be taxed $0.9940 per $100 assessed valuation. That is 0.0217 less than the maximum allowed by law. Those who live outside the library district will be charged $0.8670 per $100 assessed valuation.
The city collects property and real estate taxes for the general revenue, cemetery, parks and recreation, band, and library funds. It has budgeted $1,325,922 in revenue from those taxes this year.
