Thirteen agribusiness leaders from seven countries hope to learn more about agricultural production, marketing and distribution when they visit Southeast Missouri State University this month.
The delegation will be on campus Sept. 12-21 as part of a month-long tour of the Midwest under a U.S. Department of Agriculture program.
Danny Terry, chairman of Southeast's agriculture department, is coordinating the campus visit. Faculty from Arkansas State University will also be involved in the program.
The international delegation will consist of agribusiness leaders from the Czech Republic, Algeria, Bulgaria, Colombia, Russia, Trinidad and Venezuela.
In addition to classroom lectures, the group will visit the Riceland rice processing plant in Jonesboro, Ark., the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Following their stay in Cape Girardeau, the group will head to Kansas City.
