WEST SALEM, Ill. (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey says dozens of aftershocks are rumbling through an already-shaken Midwest.

USGS Geologist Gary Patterson says the most powerful aftershock happened around 10:20 a.m. Friday and had a 4.5-magnitude.

It was reportedly felt in at least three states.

Friday's pre-dawn earthquake had a 5.2-magnitude and was centered just southwest of West Salem, Ill.

That temblor caused minor damage and was felt as far away as Georgia and Kansas.

Two other aftershocks measured 2.6 and 2.5.
