CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Del Wakley of Milwaukee, manager of eastern operations for the retail sales development arm of the national Newspaper Advertising Bureau, will join other speakers at a day-long business conference, to be held at the Show Me Center on Southeast Missouri State University campus here April 2.

The conference, sponsored by the university's College of Business Administration and the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce's University Relations Committee, will feature a series of six "break-out" seminars, starting at 9 a.m. The schedule is designed to permit any person to attend as many as four of the seminars during the day.

"Quality and Your Business A Compelling Link" will be the theme of the day-long conference.

Michael J. Roarty, executive vice president of Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc., will be keynote speaker during the noon luncheon.

Cost of the seminar is $40. Or, the tab for the luncheon only is $25. Reservation are available by calling the Chamber (314) 335-3312.

Wakley has conducted a number of advertising seminars for retailers throughout the U.S. and Canada. Prior to joining the Newspaper Advertising Bureau, he was sales development assistant at Journal Communications in Milwaukee. His presentations include data on all forms of media advertising, radio, television, signage, phone directories and newspapers.
