A Dexter, Mo., man appeared in Cape Girardeau County Circuit Court on Monday on murder charges that originated in Stoddard County.

Glen Scott Evans, 45, faces two counts of armed criminal action and one count each of first-degree murder and first-degree robbery in connection with the death of a heavy-equipment operator whose body was found Feb. 20 in a truck outside a McDonald's restaurant in Advance, Mo.

Evans was one of two men charged with the death of 34-year-old Sean Crow.

Matt Cook, 29, faces the same charges as Evans.

Lawyers for both men requested and were granted changes of venue in the case. Evans' case is being heard in Cape Girardeau County, while Cook's case is pending in Dunklin County.

Court records show Dunklin County court officials received the change of venue in Cook's case Monday.

In Cape Girardeau County Circuit Court on Monday, Judge William Syler declined to rule on a defense request for a reduction in Evans' bond.

Attorney James McClellan, who is representing Evans in the case, told Syler his client had no prior felonies or violent crimes and is unlikely to flee because his mother lives in Dexter and his only child is a student at Southeast Missouri State University.

McClellan said Evans has been charged as an accessory and is accused of driving to where Crow was shot but had no prior knowledge that a murder was being planned.

McClellan asked the court to reduce Evans' bond to $100,000 and allow him to post 10 percent cash and live with his mother.

He noted Evans "fully cooperated" with investigators.

Syler told McClellan he would not make a decision about his request for a bond reduction Monday.

"It's highly unlikely I'll reduce the bond in a matter like this," he said.

Syler continued the case to Sept. 30.
