ADVANCE, Mo. -- An Advance man is behind bars, facing charges of having sexual relations with a girl under 12 years old.
Timothy Joe Anschultz, 32, has been charged with statutory rape. He is being held in the Stoddard County Jail on a $500,000 cash-only bond and will be arraigned Thursday afternoon.
According to a complaint filed by Donnie Bohnsack of the Advance Police Department, he recently received a call from a Cape Girardeau County Department of Family Services worker about a female student who reported flashbacks of being molested by Anschultz when she lived in Advance.
Bohnsack and the Department of Family Services worker then met with the girl's parents. The parents said that when they became aware of the alleged molestation, they broke ties with Anschultz. They said they didn't report the incident because they felt there was no proof.
During an interview with SEMO Network Against Sexual Violence, the girl said she was molested by Anschultz on several occasions.
In a recent interview with police, Anschultz denied having touched the girl.
Bohnsack said in the report that Anschultz was "very nervous, his hands were shaking at times."
