An Advance man pleaded guilty Monday in federal court to possessing methamphetamine with intentions of distributing it.

Brian Charles Nalley, 42, pleaded guilty to one felony count of possession of 5 grams or more of methamphetamine with intent to distribute before U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr., according to the Federal prosecutor's office.

Nalley also agreed to forfeit $3,555 in drug proceeds and a 1996 Harley Davidson Motorcycle as a part of the plea.

Limbaugh set sentencing for July 17 in Cape Girardeau.

At that time, Nalley faces a maximum of 40 years imprisonment and a $2 million fine, or both, followed by the court imposing a period of supervised release of at least four years.

With his plea, Nalley admitted on Nov. 29 officers with the Stoddard County Sheriff's Department and the SEMO Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the his residence near Advance.

Located was approximately one half of an ounces of a substance, which later tested positive for methamphetamine at a Drug Enforcement Administration laboratory.

Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Tim Willis handled the prosecution for the government.
