ADVANCE MAN HOSPITALIZED AFTER FATAL CRASH

John Tippett, 72, of Advance, remains in Southeast Missouri Hospital following the Saturday-night accident that killed his grandson.

Johnathan Hannah, 16, of Germantown, Tenn., was fatally injured when the car his grandfather was driving hit the back of a tractor on Highway 25, three miles south of Delta, at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday.

The tractor, driven by Jeffrey Cox, 24, of Advance, was stopped to let northbound traffic cross a culvert. There was a farming implement on the back of the tractor.

Cox wasn't injured in the incident. Tippett sustained serious injuries.
