Charlie's owner, Charlie Mangels of Oak Ridge, Mo., invented the contest because fairgoers always asked the horse's weight.

In the karoake contest, the first-place winner was Lynn Wingo of Cape Girardeau, second place was Randy Palen of Jackson, Mo., and third place was Teri Jett of Cape Girardeau.
