The teaching staff of the Adult Learning Center, 301 N. Clark Ave., and it satellites recently attended a three-day workshop in Sikeston.
The teachers participated in sessions dealing with literacy, volunteers in the ABE Program, tools for improving instruction, the teacher's responsibility for retention and recruitment, group cohesiveness and student progress and testing in Adult Basic Education.
The teachers were also instructed on the use of the new computerized data forms developed by the Adult Basic Education Section of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for enrolling students.
The teaching staff will begin using the new forms on Aug. 16, when the Adult Learning Center opens for the new school year.
