BENTON, Mo. -- A Scott City, Mo., man, accused in the stabbing death last Wednesday of his stepfather, is scheduled to appear in court today.
Christopher Jones, 18, is scheduled to appear in court in Benton before Associate Circuit Judge David Mann at 11 a.m.
Jones is being held without bond in the Scott County Jail in Benton on charges of second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
If convicted, he faces prison terms of 10 years to life on the murder charge and a minimum of three years on the count of armed criminal action.
Scott City police said Jones fatally stabbed his stepfather, John Mayabb, 48, with a knife at Mayabb's home in Scott City on Wednesday night.
