Ten people were injured in three accidents this weekend in Southeast Missouri, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Five were injured in an accident Saturday afternoon west of Scott City, Mo., when a vehicle driven by Brandon L. Licare, 18, was hit by a vehicle driven by Jared Jackson ,23, of Chaffee, Mo.

According to the patrol report, Jackson's vehicle struck Licare's vehicle as it crossed Route M from Scott County Road 204.

Licare was seriously injured. A passenger, Lindsey Baker, 18, also was seriously injured. Both were taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Jackson was moderately injured. Two passengers in his vehicle also were injured: Amanda Jackson, 20, and Collin Jackson, an infant. All three were taken to Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Three were injured in an accident just south of Fruitland, Mo., late Saturday.

Bill Wallace, 60, of Jackson, Mo., suffered moderate injuries and was taken to St. Francis Medical Center. Also injured were Timothy Johnson, 22, and Chad Perkins, 20, both of Perryville, Mo. Both were treated at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Johnson's vehicle skidded into the northbound lane on Larch Lane while attempting to avoid striking another vehicle which had made a left turn. Johnson then hit Wallace's vehicle head-on.

Two were injured early Sunday when their vehicle ran off the road and into a ditch on Route D five miles north of Jackson. Michael Shepard, 51, and Alexandra Shepard, 12, both were treated for minor injuries at St. Francis Medical Center.
