BLOMEYER -- Two people were killed and two injured in a head-on crash Sunday night on Highway 25 near Blomeyer.
Emergency crews took more than an hour to remove the bodies from the wreckage.
An extrication crew from Cape Girardeau was summoned to tear away the metal that once was a southbound car and free an injured woman and the bodies of two other women.
Their car was struck by a northbound truck that crossed the center line and sideswiped another truck moments before hitting them head-on about 8:35 p.m., the highway patrol said.
The driver of the northbound truck, a man, and the injured woman were flown to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau with serious injuries.
Three teens in the sideswiped truck weren't hurt.
The identities of accident victims weren't available when the Southeast Missouri went to press Sunday night.
