The U.S. Achievement Academy announced that LaCretia Nimma and Casey Ferden have been named the U.S. national award winners in history and government. The U.S. Achievement Academy announced that LaCretia Nimma and Casey Ferden have been named the U.S. national award winners in history and government. The Academy recognizes fewer than 10 percent of all American high school students.

Nimma, who attends Shawnee High School, was nominated by a history teacher at the school, and Ferden, who attends L.J. Schultz Middle School, was nominated by a social studies teacher at the school.

Nimma and Ferden will both appear in the Achievement Academy Official Yearbook published nationally.

The Academy selects winners upon the exclusive recommendation of teachers, coaches, counselors or other school sponsors and upon the standards of selection set forth by the Academy.
