ABWA SPONSORS LOCAL PAGEANTS

The Jacksonian Charter Chapter of American Business Women Association is again sponsoring the Miss Jackson Scholarship Pageant, Miss Christmas, Miss Junior Christmas, Miss Holly and the Little Miss Snowball and Little Miss Snowflake Pageants.

These pageants will be held November 13th, 1999 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The winner of the Miss Jackson Scholarship Pageant will represent Jackson in the Miss Missouri Scholarship Pageant, whose winner will then represent Missouri at the Miss America Scholarship Pageant in Atlantic City. The Miss Jackson Scholarship Pageant is directed under the rules and regulations of the Miss America Scholarship Program.

The Miss Jackson Scholarship Fund was able to give away over $2,000 in scholarship money last year. This fund is financed by many area merchants and businesses and the monies are used to award scholarships to the winner and runners up in the Miss Jackson Pageant. The Miss Christmas, Junior Miss Christmas, Miss Holly, Little Miss Snowball and Little Miss Snowflake Pageants award savings bonds and prizes donated by area businesses and financial institutions.
