JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Voting is officially getting under way for Missouri's primary elections.
Tuesday is the first day that registered voters may cast absentee ballots for the Aug. 7 party primaries.
Missouri requires people voting absentee to meet one of several conditions. One of the most commonly used is an expectation of being absent from the proper jurisdiction on election day.
Other conditions commonly cited include being incapacitated by an illness or disability, or caring for someone else who is confined for those reasons.
