DUDLEY, Mo. -- Stoddard County authorities seized about 600 suspected marijuana plants Wednesday from what is described as one of the largest outdoor growing operations found in the county.

The plants, which were 8 to 12 feet tall, were eradicated by Stoddard County deputies, who were assisted by members of the Missouri Department of Conservation and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, according to Sheriff Carl Hefner. Hefner said the plants needed a few more weeks to reach maturity and estimated their street value at about $40,000.

Although officers have "some suspects," Hefner said, no arrests have been made at this time.
