Abandoned mobile home catches fire; arson suspect in custody

Arson is suspected in a mobile home fire in Cape Girardeau County and a suspect is in custody at the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department, a spokesman for the Fruitland Fire Department said Saturday.

At around 8 p.m. Friday, firefighters from Fruitland and East County rushed to the mobile home on Lindsey Lane near Trail of Tears State Park to put out the blaze.

According to the spokesman, the mobile home was abandoned and no one was hurt. Drug paraphernalia was also found at the scene. No other details concerning the fire are being made public at this time.
