AARP honors local resident for long service

The AARP Safety Driving Program recently recognized Robert W. Harper, associate state coordinator for the district area, as a 15-year instructor. Harper, a Jackson resident, was awarded at a recent class held at the Bank of Missouri.

The program, held a few times annually, includes teaching seniors how to compensate for physical, visual and hearing problems to make them better and safer drivers. The AARP Safety Driving Program is one of the oldest driver safety programs in the United States and provides insurance discounts to graduates who take the course every three years.
