CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Members of Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL), Branch 1622, Cape Girardeau, has received national recognition of volunteer efforts.

The local group has been cited as a regional winner in AAL's 1991 National Fraternal Awards Program, which annually cites AAL volunteer groups from each of the AAL's 78 agencies nationwide.

Officers of branch 1622 include Richard Behring, president; John Kinder, vice president; and Viola Medley, secretary. They are supported by general agent, Jack Hollingsworth, and district representative Steven Fritzler.

AAL, a volunteer organization, provides a wide variety of benefits, including insurance and volunteer opportunities, to Lutherans and their families.
