ST. LOUIS -- An investigation continues into a propane tank explosion that injured six workers at a St. Louis truck yard, leaving one of them with critical burns.
The explosion happened about 8 p.m. Thursday at Saia LTL Freight's terminal near downtown. Fire Department Capt. Garon Mosby says workers were trying to switch out a propane tank on a forklift when a leak caused a flash explosion.
The cause of the leak has not been determined. Names of victims were not released.
In addition to the man with critical injuries, three other workers are in stable condition with serious burns. Saia spokeswoman Jeannie Jump says the injuries are not life-threatening.
Two workers with minor injuries declined treatment.w
