PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- A propane tank spewed 300 gallons into the wind at Orscheln Farm and Home in Perryville on Friday.
Store manager Terry Danz said MFA Oil and Gas employees knocked a valve off a tank they were going to replace.
"It took about an hour for the tank to empty," Danz said. "We had a good breeze, and it was blowing it away."
Highway 51 was temporarily closed.
Perryville police chief Keith Tarrillion said neighboring homes were not affected and no one was evacuated. Danz said employees at Orscheln were warned not to run anything electrical, not to make sparks and not to smoke.
