ST. LOUIS -- Three men were injured after gunfire erupted during a candlelight vigil in St. Louis to remember an 18-year-old fatally shot by police.
The shooting happened Saturday night during a vigil for VonDerrit Myers Jr. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported just 10 minutes into the vigil, gunfire broke out. Three men in their 20s were shot.
Police said all three of the injuries were minor.
Myers, who was black, was shot to death by an off-duty white police officer in October 2014, just weeks after the fatal shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson. Police said Myers fired at the officer first, but Myers' family has disputed that claim and filed a wrongful-death lawsuit in January.
