ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) -- Police report two teenaged girls have been arrested in connection with another incident involving prescription drugs at a St. Joseph school.
The Central High School freshmen and an adult were arrested Thursday in what police call a prescription drug investigation. Police are disclosing little about the case, including what type of drugs were involved.
Officers say they arrested an adult separately as a part of the investigation on Thursday but the relationship between the three was not specified.
Two 13-year-old middle school girls last month handed out methadone pills on a school bus, and nine girls who took them became ill.
The two girls and a 16-year-old boy who police say gave them the pills were sentenced them to finish the rest of the school year at a juvenile facility.
