TUSCUMBIA, Mo. -- Authorities said a single-engine plane crashed near a central Missouri airport, killing both people on board.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said in a news release the single-engine Beechcraft plane crashed Saturday afternoon in a wooded area near the Lee C. Fine Airport in Miller County.

The patrol said both occupants of the plane were declared dead at the scene.

The patrol identified the victims as Bruce Hensler, 56, and Sarah M. Hensler, 30.

The patrol said they were from New Britain, Pennsylvania.

It's unclear where the aircraft had taken off from or where it was headed.

The patrol said the Federal Aviation Administration is expected to investigate.
