Two teenage boys were killed in a Saturday morning accident near Villa Ridge, Ill., the Illinois State Police said.
The car was northbound on U.S. 51 one mile north of Villa Ridge at around 8:30 a.m. when the 16-year-old driver lost control and ran off the west side of the road. The car slid down a dirt embankment into a tree. Both the driver and his 14-year-old passenger were thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, state police said.
Their identities were being withheld pending the notification of relatives.
