1996 CAPE GIRARDEAU CHRISTMAS PARADE WINNERS ARE NAMED

Winners have been announced for the 1996 Christmas Parade held Sunday in Cape Girardeau.

Winners, chosen in six categories:

-- Spirit, best Christmas theme: First place, Southeast Hospice; second place, Christ Episcopal Church; third place, Younce family; fourth place, Second Baptist Church.

-- Best float: First place, Trinity Lutheran at Egypt Mills; second place, SEMO Hogs; third place, Abundant Life; fourth place, St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

-- Sweepstakes, best total points: Christ Lutheran, Gordonville.

-- Band award: Best high school, St. Vincent's at Perryville; best junior high, St. Vincent's at Cape Girardeau; best professional, VIP Industries and Jerry Ford.

-- Non-float award: Cape Girardeau Police and Fire departments.

-- Chairman Award: Sinn Family, "101 Dalmations."
