Landshire of St. Louis has initiated a recall of 1,751 cases of Nike All-American sandwiches because they have the potential to be contaminated with listeria, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems, according to the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center.

The sandwich subject to recall is a prepackaged, individually wrapped sandwich. The UPC code is 0 97488017141 5. Sandwiches involved have a lot number of 11 237 6. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recall resulted from a routine sampling taken by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services for retail food establishments. Customers may return the sandwich to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact Landshire at 800-468-3354.
