__What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?:__
I was born in this area, Southeast Missouri, and I grew up on our family farm. With my experience of working on our family farm during my childhood and as an adult working with my father in our current efforts to continue our farm for future generations, I understand the struggles facing our agricultural community. Having taught for 8 years in our public schools, I know how hard our teachers work to provide the very best education possible for our children and I want to support local control of our schools and allow our teachers to teach without interference. Working as a nurse for the past 11 years in this area has given me a great insight into the struggles facing our elderly, I want to ensure that everyone receives the best possible healthcare available to them. Having been a mom and raising my 2 daughters here, I value our local communities and want to make sure that our communities are safe places to raise a family. My husband is retired from the Army and served during Operation Enduring Freedom, having went through his deployment to a combat zone and now as he is a retired vet, I see firsthand the issues facing our military families, both active duty and retired. I will work hard to serve all the people of this district in Jefferson City, I will work to keep government off your back and out of your pocket. I will be your committed, principled Conservative in Jefferson City.
__What are the biggest issues facing your district? If elected, how would you address them?:__
From going door to door in the district I am seeing hard working people that are feeling the pressures of over reaching government and am hearing of more and more jobs that are lost. I will to fight for our people to encourage an environment that promotes job growth. I want to see all families succeed and to be able to put food on their tables and keep a roof over their heads, I know how hard this is. I was a single mom for a number of years and I still remember the worries and difficulties that I faced during those years. I want to speak up for Southeast Missouri and promote our area with the goal of bringing more jobs to the 151st District.
__Among the most debated ballot issues for the Aug. 5 election is Amendment 7, the transportation tax. Are you in favor of or against the measure? Why?:__
Good infrastructure is vital to our area and to job growth, this is an important issue that will be decided by our people on August 5th.
__Do you support Medicaid expansion in Missouri? Why or why not?:__
I have listened to many people throughout the district describe a currently tedious and time consuming process for Medicaid assistance, many have told me that they wait months and months before hearing back from the Medicaid office in regards to their application. This concerns me greatly which leads me to believe that our first step must be to review the administration of Medicaid before we consider any other steps.
__Amendment 1 will also be considered by voters on Aug. 5. What is your stance on the measure commonly known as "right-to-farm?":__
Our area is based in agriculture and I come from a farming family, I want to see farming in this area grow and thrive. This important issue will also be decide by the people on August 5th.
