11-YEAR-OLD TO PERFORM AT THURSDAY CONCERT

Andrea Penzel, 11, will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday at the weekly Jackson Municipal Band concert at the city park band shell.

Penzel is a local vocalist who will attend the Middle School in the fall.

Penzel's great-grandfather, Karl, was instrumental in the municipal band's history as his firm, Penzel Construction, designed and built the band shell.

Penzel has opened concerts for the Kingsmen, Hopper's and Lester's, as well as acts in Silver Dollar City. In addition, Penzel has performed at the Hard Rock in Nashville, Tenn.

She also plays basketball and softball.

Last week, Coyote Creek, a bluegrass musical group, performed.
