The 100-Mile Yard Sale has launched a website that adds new functions for those participating in the event.

DEXTER, Mo. -- The 100-Mile Yard Sale has launched a website that adds new functions for those participating in the event.

The website, 25yardsale.com, has information on places to eat, sleep or get gas as well as the locations of specific yard sales.

In recent years, the sale has been promoted by flyers mailed all over the region, but Janet Coleman of the Dexter Chamber of Commerce said she thinks this will be a positive change allowing the word to reach farther than before.

"It's really designed to make it a lot easier," Coleman said.

The Dexter Chamber of Commerce, along with chambers of commerce in Jackson and Kennett, Mo., have joined forces and money to create the website to help benefit the sale.

"Given the state of the economy, we expect to have a pretty good year," Coleman said. "People are looking for ways to save money and this is definitely a way to do that."

This year's sale will begin May 21 and run through May 25. It is expected to bring thousands of people through Stoddard County.
