A man wanted in a July 30 shootout in Sikeston, Missouri, has been arrested.
Orlando "TJ" Sheron, 20, of Sikeston was arrested Friday evening on charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon, online court records show. He also had a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear on a charge of marijuana possession.
Sheron had been in hiding since the incident, according to a news release from the Sikeston Department of Public Safety. The department received information Friday that Sheron was leaving a house on Cambridge Street in a vehicle. Officers stopped the vehicle and recognized the passenger in the back seat as Sheron.
Sheron attempted to flee, but officers took him into custody, the release stated.
The car's driver, Brandon M. Johnson, 28, also of Sikeston, was arrested on suspicion of hindering prosecution and was later charged with possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana after a police canine alerted on the vehicle, the release stated.
No court date has been set for either man.
Police still are seeking the other alleged shooter from the July 30 incident, Dewayne Harris Jr., 23, of Sikeston.
Anyone with information on Harris' whereabouts is asked to call the department at (573) 471-4711 or the Crimestoppers hotline at (573) 471-1500. Tips may remain anonymous, and anyone providing information may be eligible for a cash reward.
