ST. LOUIS -- Authorities in eastern Missouri are searching for an escaped county jail inmate after the capture of his accomplice.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Clark Parrott said Jason Mills, 38, remains at large Monday after the Sunday afternoon escape from the Madison County Jail in Fredericktown, Missouri. Police caught Adam Moore, 21, a convicted murderer, on Sunday night.

Mills was last seen in Franklin County, where he is believed to have crashed a stolen vehicle before fleeing. He is white, 5-foot-9 and weighs about 175 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Mills is believed to be armed and dangerous.
