Winter has yet to release its grip on the Cape Girardeau area as three to four inches of snow blanketed the region Tuesday and continued cold temperatures are predicted for tonight. Actor/comic George Lindsey, well known for his portrayal of "Goober" for many years on television, jokes with the fans during halftime of the football game between SEMO State University and Southwest Missouri State Saturday afternoon. Lindsey, who originated the Goober character on the "Andy Griffith Show" and is now a regular on "Hee Haw," was in Cape Girardeau to host the Phi Mu Alpha All-Campus Review Friday and Saturday nights on the university campus.
