Speak Out: A new term of respect?

Posted by Old John on Tue, Jan 26, 2010, at 10:40 PM:

I notice a lot of folks qualify the importance of their thinking with a recognized phrase. My favorites are "Well I'm a teacher" and "I'm a single mom and". Will the next indicater of pertinent opinion be "I've always voted independent"?

  • Well, it's not "I'm from the gov'ment and I'm here to help you."

It's not the national TV news media...

...over 50% of Americans don't trust the BS that

TV talking heads are trying to feed them.

    It's not the President...

... even the staunchest Democrat's think he's about to panic in a puddle of his own incompetence.

Maybe we have to trust each other...

... trust your friends and neighbors. Reconnect, cuss and discuss, then express your opinion. We are the power - the voting power, the buying power, and the tax payers. We send our children to school, to fight for our country, and are responsible for our own futures. In a crisis we fend for ourselves and help our neighbors. We care for our young, protect ourselves and tend to the elderly.

Old John, and others on this forum that share their opinions, those of us who also attach our names to Letters, those that Speak Out...you are who I trust. I trust us to find common ground and send those that represent us an appropriate message for them to figure out and respond accordingly. They need us to trust them ... or their replacements.

  • Maybe the best thing is turn off the computer and give it (and ourselves) a rest.
