Greetings speakout commenters.
Just wanted to let you all know that I just posted a new poll on the front page for story of the decade in Southeast Missouri.
I just filed a story for Thursday's paper that reviews the stories of the last 10 years. It was a fun story to write. I hope you check it out in print or online when you get a chance.
What do you think were the top stories of the decade?
My vote is for the opening of the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge. I remember how excited everyone was when it was going up. And the excitement when the old one was demolished. It was truly a story that captured the entire region. I covered the dedication ceremony; it's an assignment I'll never forget.
