Sounds to me like Spongebob eschews the entitlement mentality in favor of working for a living.

In the 10+ years of being a grandparent, Spongebob has come to grow on me. Kinda dig the guy. Always seems to send out positive messages to the kiddies. Coming out of the cesspool of Hollywood, it's actually kind of refreshing.
(Ya, guess I've still got a little bit of kid in the heart. Grandkids will do that to you)
