Democrats don't like Duck Dynasty? I guess it is because they were successful, live comfortably, have family values, and pray.

Piddling. Cant sell out or the taxes will eat me up. Not far away but I like this. No employees or the BS that goes with them.
I feel sorry for the poor guys that have to keep going. Obama economics has them hurting for work, union halls are slow, and people are just trying to hang on. I knew it was going to be bad, but not this bad, this long.

I grew up in a close family like that. The only thing lacking was the money but we were happy as them. Now the liberals promote single parent households and tries to justify lack of pride.

I must say I had heard the term "Duck Dynasty" and put two and two together to figure it was another goofy reality show. I just read about it on Wikipedia and may try to watch it.
Anyone that can make a fortune out of duck calls has got to be more interesting than He that is the top topic on these threads.

Those words weren't in the article, so must be yours, Regret. Is it so hard to admit that there are some Democrats that are successful, live comfortably, have family values and pray? I am a Democrat, I live comfortably, (my own earnings, not welfare), have high family values and I watch Duck Dynasty.
Are there no Republicans on assistance in MO? Are they all successful and hate Democrats? Sounds like it to me from reading all the SO comments. You Republicans don't realize you are the ones spreading hate and dividing the nation. And in turn Democrats have to answer back further dividing the nation.
Duck Dynasty is a reality show for God's sake.

Old John,
10-4 on the interesting part.
Have seen Duck Dynasty and it is OK, but I am not into reality shows so probably won't watch it as a regular habit.
Rather try to catch up on the old movies that I either missed as a youth because of little money or during my working years was too busy working 10-14 hour days to stay afloat and try to get ahead. TV does not stay on during all of my waking hours at home at any rate. Some days it will be 5 to 8 in the evening before we get around to turning it on. Been somebody up here since about 6:30 this morning (not me) and the TV has not been on yet.

Regret, If you don't mind, I'd like to see where you got your info on liberals promoting single parent households. I can't seem to find it. Can you help me out here?

"He says the legacy of bias in America, from slavery to laws that required the separation of blacks and whites, has meant that institutional barriers to success exist for many groups, particularly blacks, Latinos and Native Americans."
I grew up in Bollinger County. I had no Legacy of Bias of any kind growing up. Other than a Legacy of growing up in a Decent, Caring, Loving Family & Community, I had no "Legacy" that I can think of.
Does this then mean that if I should have any Bias of any kind today it had to be "Earned" or "Learned"?
To some degree, I discussed this with a Jewish friend of mine that had his first invitation to his Gentile wife's family function since she passed away. He told me he had always felt he was not accepted by her family, but after this visit with them 3 States away, he said he had been absolutely wrong and had the most welcome feeling after this visit he had had since their marriage. Sometimes I think we are separated by a common bond we do not recognize or know exists. Does that make any sense?

exmissourian: I was born and raised in a southern conservative democratic family. I have voted democrat many times. My mom and dad were strong Union members of the Teamsters. The democratic party of today is not in no way the democratic party of the Truman and Kennedy era. The party has taken a sharp turn to the far left and they failed to stay in the middle of the road. If a good conservative democrat would run today I would vote for him like I did with Steve Hodges a good man and a strong conservative southern democrat. Today's modern day democratic party is not my cup of tea.

These things were happening long before Obama took office and will continue to happen after the next president is elected. Discrimination will never be overcame. This president was hamstrung the minute he was elected by people like Rush making statements, "I hope he fails", on day one, not "lets hope he can make things better" Mitch McConnell, on day one said "the main goal of the Republican party is to make sure he's a one term president", not, "lets all work together for the good of the country and the people". The defeat of the Republican who lost, and the people who voted for him have not gotten over it and never will and will continue to spread the hate, by that I mean, calling names and making fun of Obama and his family. And also to the people who voted for him.

exmissourian: I voted for him in 2008 not many will admit to that today. Based on what he campaign on I really thought he would make a good President, well I was wrong I stayed with him until 2011 and he just kept backing me in to a corner I was kind of like the Black woman that told him in a town hall meeting the same year she said she just could not support him anymore that everything he told us was not coming to light and it was making it hard on her to defend him any more. Just because he is a democrat that don't make me any difference I would have said the same thing if it was a republican President. There has been many times he has not told us the truth he always blames some one else but never does he take responsibility, he is the commander in chief the buck stops with him.

"
I think if we all told strictly the truth, used complete statements and kept things in their proper context, we would have a lot less hate and discontent.
Exmissourian, as it is copied above from your little rant, the statement is actually untrue.
1,) Rush Limbaugh is credited with making his statement on 16 Jan 2009 4 days before the inauguration.
2.) (From Fact Checker) "There is no doubt that McConnell said he wanted to make Obama a one-term president. But he did not say it at the start of Obama's term; instead, he made his comments at the midpoint, after Obama had enacted many of his preferred policies.
Perhaps, in Obama's memory, McConnell was always uncooperative. But that does not give him and other Democrats the license to rearrange the chronology to suit the party's talking points."
"McConnell made his remarks in an interview that appeared in the National Journal on Oct. 23, 2010 -- nearly two years after Obama was elected president."
Now I would like to ask Exmissourian, what is so bad about wanting someone to fail at an agenda that is so diametrically opposed to your own convictions and beliefs? I fail to see anything wrong with that.
"This president was hamstrung the minute he was elected....."
This man should have never been elected President. He is without a doubt the least qualified candidate to run for President in the last 100 years.

BC,
I believe you are correct. We have nobody in either of the two major parties that are
1.) Fit for the job
or
2.) If they are capable they are not electable.

Need a shoulder to cry on? As an "exmissourian" I hope you're living in that wonderful democrat utopia of Chicago, IL. It suits your type of thinking.

commonsense says you're wrong on Benghazi Jay!
Shapley says your own source contradicts your statement several times Jay!
I don't need to prove you wrong, you do it every time you open your mouth. Now get back to googling on the Benghazi failure, or the Syrian thread you started and asked people not to be "snarky". Then you go snarky. You're a mental mess. As your friend said on these threads:
"You're never going to get a girl with that attitude Jay".
Did you ever "get" a girl Jay? I think not by your bitter postings. Oh no!!!!! Those pesky SO "archives"...

Didn't mean to get all your panties in a wad. I just feel name calling and making fun of people is disgusting. Of course in this forum it's freedom of speech, it's bullying in school.
I'm a minority also, Rick, a Native American, I've always made my way too with no help from anyone, but am dumped into the "takers" bin due to being mostly liberal.
Dug, I don't live in Chicago, I live in another Republican state and find it a very good place to live.
I was born and raised in Bollinger county Mo and was taught to "do unto others as you'd want them to do unto you".
And finally, and I'll bow out, yes I was reading this paper during the Bush years, in fact, I voted for him the first time, the comments are worse now than then.
Being old and feeble is no reason for me to get into anymore ******* matches, so am so sorry to rile you all.
