"We, the following citizens of the Missouri 8th Congressional District, not wishing to be a burden on our fellow citizens from the State of Missouri through the funding of a special election, demand that due to her inability to fulfill her obligations, and her publically announced retirement from US Congress on February 8, 2013, our duly elected representative to the United States House of Representatives, Jo Ann Emerson, not be sworn into the 113th session of the United States Congress, and that the candidate who finished with the next highest vote total for the office of US Representative (MO-8) in the election of November 6, 2012, Jack Rushin, be sworn in in her stead."

  • Rick V, Jack is a good chirocraker, he is needed more where he is.

  • Seems like the reasonable thing to do. This district costs taxpayers enough as it is. The least we can do is ask that they not have to foot the bill for the arrogance of our representative.

  • Rick you know that's not the way the system works.

  • What system? You mean the system to petition the government?

When you sign this petition, it is emailed to Emerson. That is classic!

  • Rick,

At this point in history a nationwide vote would be a waste. The current politicians in Washington would win the issue hands down. The Takers, with their hand out at the same time, would reward the dunces in Washington for continuing to award the Takers their freebies.

  • Rick if you truely believe that, then if you leave for a better job and are vested in the first company should you lose your retirement?
