How in your opinion did the Second Debate affect the election and why do you think so?

  • Is Romney for equal pay or not? Binders full of women, I know a few who would like to give him a piece of their mind.

  • Obama never answered a single question. A guy asks "Who denied the extra security requests from the Ambassador?". Then he began his spin and never answered the question.

Another guy asks "Your secretary of Energy said we need higher gas prices. Why?". Again, that is a factual statement and Obama never answered it.

  • It was not a runaway, but I would give it to Romney.

Given both debates, Romney outranks Obama considerably.

  • I'll give it to President Obama. He had a good night and romney was compared to Bush : ) Oops

And Romney ended up looking worse than Bush. He wasn't the success he claims to have been in Mass. Look at the facts...he didn't run for a second term, because he wasn't going to win - do you call that success? Romney failed Mass.

  • Was Shapley at the debates?

    http://politicker.com/2012/10/reporters-preparing-to-cover-debate-by-drinking-fr...

"Anheuser-Busch is a strong advocate of responsible drinking. Hunter may have noticed our displays highlighting our 30 years of being an industry leader in supporting alcohol responsibility as well as the Designate a Driver coasters at each table in the hospitality area."

Does that then qualify this debate as a 'Beer Summit'?

  • Wheels, A buddy back years ago went to an important training session in a big hotel and they were having some sort of convention with a free open bar in the lobby. He made it to his meeting just in time to sign the attendance sheet.

You think those reporters might have had enough to drink that they might actually forget orders and report the truth for a change?

  • Old John,

Regarding your buddy. Remembering the glory days when some of the suppliers at a convention or show whould have hospitality rooms with free food and drinks. Just trying to be cordial you know and making as many of them as you could, would sometimes test a man's capacity.

I remember Monsanto's being especially elaborate and being about the 4th one we hit. I was walking over to the bar and wondered what it was causing people ahead of me to make large steps on their way up to the bar. As I got a little further into the room I realized it was one of the attendies who must have got an early start that morning and was so tired he just layed down on the floor to take a nap. Everybody was just politely stepping over the poor exhausted fellow.

  • Wheels, Most of the expos we attended were in some of the best and biggest resort hotels. I most always earned the travel and basic lodging through incentive. Being one to need coffee to start the day and being a cheapskate, I learned quickly that there is most always coffee somewhere and many times it was where our folks were setting up for the day. Beats room service at $5 per pop or the hotel cafe at $2 a cup.

I wonder if any campaign money was spent at the debates.

  • Dug, You need to re-watch the speech. The President took responsibility. -- Posted by Me'Lange on Wed, Oct 17, 2012, at 5:56 AM

No - the debate I watched had the following question - "We were sitting around, talking about Libya, and we were reading and became aware of reports that the State Department refused extra security for our embassy in Benghazi, Libya, prior to the attacks that killed four Americans. Who was it that denied enhanced security and why?"

If the president answered it please tell me WHO was it that denied enhanced security and WHY? He never answered the question.

WHich gets to the interesting point of bias - those that love Obama will say he answered the question. "The buck stops here" is no answer to that question. That is a spin answer.

  • To me, Romney came across a little bit like a snake oil salesman. He kept referring to his "Five Point Plan" and how it will create jobs, reduce taxes, lower the deficit, smooth wrinkles, remove stains and cure meemaw's angina. It certainly may do all those things and more...but magic elixirs seldom work as promised and I don't know what's in his.

Obama was more specific with his answers and seemed to have an actual plan, but I question his ability to accomplish anything. His greatest accomplishment as President has been to bring a group of disparate people together and unite them for a common cause. Those people of course are called Republicans and they are united against anything Obama says or does. Add to that the Democrats natural proclivity to disagree and you end up with a congress that is likely not to be able to pass any legislation, good or bad.

Of course, that could be the best possible outcome.

  • Excuse me Voyager, but I think Obama may have taught "Old Butch" his trick and Voters need to know this before going to the polls on November 6.

"Old" John was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called 'pullets,' and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.. He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.

Old John's favorite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. To Old John's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.

Old John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Saint Lawrence County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well.

Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention.

Vote carefully this fall, the bells are not always audible.

Good Grief Dades, surely not.... that was what got us in so much trouble in 2008 "Hope and Change" and "Yes We Can".

Anyone else remember that? How is that "Hope and Change" working out do you think? And "Yes We Can" turned into 'No we Cannot' even while Obama had a majority in both the Senate and the House.

  • Me'Lange, Did I miss the part where raising tariffs were mentioned?

"Interesting the President has not used the auto stimulus and current auto sales in his campaign. Most predicted the surge in sales caused by the stimulus would result in a severe fall off in sales -- just the opposite happened."

So how are those Volt sales coming along? Obama didn't want to bring up his auto stimulus and be countered with his money down the rat hole of failed companies he backed. He did mention that he is responsible for us all going to be driving sardine cans with dust buster motors someday as to get double the fuel mileage. :)

His approach to education, health services, energy and so much more is not to be concerned about the rising prices but to advocate easier financing or more sacrifice in freedom and standard of living by the public.

  • -THE TRUTH HURTS-

There is only one promise that Obama made that actually happened. That is the death of Osama bin Laden. Although, I would like to see habeas corpus in the matter.

Other than that, under his administration the state of the nation has greatly worsened.

You people who think he needs more time are either insane or don't study current affairs. Anybody try finding a new job lately?

The price of gasoline question never got answered either. Hello? Knock, knock. It's double what it was in 2008. A 2lb block of cheese was $4.98. Now, it's $7.98.

    -Unemployment was 5%, now, 8%.

-Yearly GDP has increased about 1%. Not anywhere close enough to keep up with population growth or the way this administration spends money.

-People receiving food stamps was 32mil, now, 46mil.

-Personal bankruptcies have increased by almost 50%.

-foreclosures are up and home sales are down.

-Consumer confidence dropped from 87% to 65%.

    -Federal spending is up.

-Annual federal deficit went from 458B to 1.33T.

-Cumulative public debt has risen from 5T to 11T.

Need more proof that the current Prez is a big lying smoke blower?

    Report: Bin Laden Already Dead

    Published December 26, 2001

    FoxNews.com

Usama bin Laden has died a peaceful death due to an untreated lung complication, the Pakistan Observer reported, citing a Taliban leader who allegedly attended the funeral of the Al Qaeda leader.

"The Coalition troops are engaged in a mad search operation but they would never be able to fulfill their cherished goal of getting Usama alive or dead," the source said.

Bin Laden, according to the source, was suffering from a serious lung complication and succumbed to the disease in mid-December, in the vicinity of the Tora Bora mountains. The source claimed that bin Laden was laid to rest honorably in his last abode and his grave was made as per his Wahabi belief.

Speaking of being able to think, do you believe that the Navy Seal the published his book regarding to so-called capture and killing of Bin Laden is fact? The Pentagon issues a statement saying, at first, he shouldn't be allowed to publish the book because he might divulge State secrets. Now, after they let him publish it, they are supposedly reviewing it? This is hogwash. They merely released propaganda for the idiots. How about you believe your sources and I'll question all of them. Whether he died in 2001 or 2012, we will never know. To claim such is foolishness.

The Solyndra number is correct. I believe the total amount set aside for "green" investments by the US Government was around $80 BILLION in the stimulus. Most of it went to democrat donors that gave specifically to Obama before and after their loans/grants.

Obama gives them TAXPAYER money. They, in turn, give millions in campaign money back to Obama. Then they go bankrupt. Obama makes Wall St. look like Sesame Street compared to his money laundering.
