I am invited to a private dinner with President Obama at the White House! All expenses paid. What to wear? What to wear?

  • It's a good thing he will be hosting the dinner because from what I saw of him sometime back throwing out the first pitch at the first game of the seaason...... he wouldn't be qualified to serve the rolls at Lamberts

  • I certainly wouldn't make the trip to see/talk to the president, I might and I have made the trip to see the White House and view other points of interest. Nothing personal against our president, it is just not my cup of tea to get exited over celebrity whether polititian or entertainer. I would make such a drive to see a good friend.

  • Naw Regret, You would be the subject of Mr. Obama's speech touting how he was helping small business. And when you got home you would have a thanks for coming note from the president on IRS stationary! :)

  • Going to an Obama diner would NOT be a pleasure but rather an ordeal to be avoided.

  • Here is another story that states it is a $5 per ticket raffle. Are they going to have $20 car washes in front of the White House next?

  • Why don't we do something different? Have a raffle at $5 per ticket and the winner gets to be president the next 4 years. Could it be any worse than what we drew last time?

Proceeds of the raffle go towards paying down the nztional debt.

  • Regret, Dang I thought this was a joke! So it is real.

Back in the mid 70's I put together a prize drawing where paid customers were automatically entered and others could enter for a small fee. I was quickly reminded by several that it is illegal to require a purchase for entry.

So if common wants to enter can he do so without a donation?

  • OJ,

You think I would joke about an invitation to have dinner with the President? I am disappointed in you!

Perhaps second place is a sleepover in the Lincoln bedroom?

It is a raffle OJ. Obama got the idea from the Eagles club.

  • Certainly 'hope' you 'change' your mind and decline the invitation. :-)

  • I would send my mother in law instead. That may be too cruel.
