Montgomery Bank donates to SEMO Food Bank
The Southeast Missouri Food Bank has received an $8,000 donation from Montgomery Bank to support the BackPacks for Friday program to serve 30 children in the Cape Girardeau School District. BackPacks for Friday fills the gap and reduces child hunger by providing children who are at risk of hunger with a bag of nutritious food every Friday throughout the school year when other resources aren't available such as free school breakfasts and lunches.
Saint Francis Medical Center's employees pledged more than $201,000 to the 2012 Team One campaign, almost $41,000 over the goal. Contributions were made from more than half of the medical center's 2,400 employees and physicians. Contributions to Team One benefit several funding areas: Saint Francis Caring Fund, Saint Francis Patient Care Equipment and Building Fund and the area of greatest need. Organized by the Saint Francis Foundation and an employee committee, the campaign reaches every department of the Medical Center. Employees choose the fund they wish to support and donate by payroll deduction, a one-time contribution or through earned time off. The Caring Fund assists members of the Saint Francis Family who experience an unforeseen emergency or crisis. Since its inception in 1994, the Caring Fund has paid out nearly $775,000 to hundreds of employees, providing assistance with utilities, rent, food, transportation, medicine, health care coverage and more for employees in dire need.
