Harrah's Metropolis donates to food pantries

During the final push toward the holiday season, many local food pantries are struggling to meet the growing demand of the rising cost of groceries. Harrah's Metropolis will present $3,700 each to Happy Helpers Food Pantry of Tamms, Ill., Christian Outreach Program Emergency of Metropolis, Ill., and to Merryman House of Paducah, Ky., in an effort to assist in the increased demands of their services. Each organization will also receive a surplus of frozen baked goods to assist in the demand for holiday preparations. Frozen pumpkin and apple pies will be made available for distribution among these recipients.
