Woman honored for Relay for Life efforts

Cape Girardeau resident Priscilla Mabuce was recently recognized at the Heroes of Hope Awards in which 27 cancer survivors and caregivers were honored for their involvement with Relay For Life. Mabuce was selected as the Hero of Hope for the Southern Missouri region of the division. Mabuce was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. She has been involved in the Relay for Life of Cape County event as a team captain since 2004. In May, she completed training to become an American Cancer Society Reach to Recovery volunteer.
