* Julie Langenfeld of Cape Girardeau recently was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Langenfeld was initiated at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla.
* Ryan Brock, a computer science major from Scott City; Julia Weber, a mathematics major from Jackson; and Mollie Crader, a pre-nursing major from Burfordville have been named to the dean's list at Central Methodist University for the spring 2014 semester. To qualify for dean's list recognition, students must be enrolled as a full-time student and achieve a 3.5 or higher grade-point average on the University's 4.0 scale, according to Dr. Rita Gulstad, provost.
* William Cooper, a senior arts management major, and Giovanni Walker, a sophomore music education instruction major, both of Sikeston, Missouri, were named to the dean's list at Culver Stockton College in Canton, Missouri.
To be named to the dean's list, students must meet high academic standards established by Culver-Stockton, earning between 3.5 and 3.99 GPA while enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.
* Alicia Petzoldt of Frohna, Missouri, has been named to the dean's list at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, for the spring 2014 semester.
Dean's list honors are accorded Carthage students who achieve a 3.5 grade-point average while carrying at least 14 credit hours during a semester.
* Tara Price, a health promotion major from Cape Girardeau, was named to the honor roll at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas, in the spring 2014 semester.
To qualify for the semester honor roll, students must earn a minimum 3.80 semester grade-point average in at least 12 graded hours.
* Local students were named to the president's list at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri, for the spring 2014 semester: Erica Fields, a sophomore psychology major from Jackson; and Jennifer Peikert, a sophomore theater major from Marble Hill, Missouri.
To be named to the president's list, students must meet high academic standards established by Culver-Stockton, earning a 4.0 GPA while enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.
* Local students graduated from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri, in May: Megan Cotner of Jackson graduated with a master of education degree; Kimberly Pinkard of Sikeston, Missouri, graduated with a master of education degree; Jennifer Scism of Sikeston graduated with a master of education degree; Holly Thurmond of Sikeston graduated with a master of education degree; and Amanda Turner of Sikeston graduated with a master of education degree.
* Elizabeth Engram of Sikeston, Missouri, graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, with a bachelor of arts in psychology.
