Honors, achievements
* Leni Fluegge of Jackson received the Provost Award at the Student Life and Leadership ceremony held recently at Southeast Missouri State University. The award is given to one student from each college who is nominated by faculty and staff.
* Kelsey Shearon of Jackson recently graduated cum laude from Webster University in St. Louis. She majored in international studies with a human rights emphasis and minored in French. She has been on the dean's list every semester and graduated with departmental honors and international distinction.
Scholarships
The following students received scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2010-2011 school year:
* John McLain of Cape Girardeau received a Governor's Scholarship, the most prestigious academic honor awarded to beginning freshmen.
* Dikota Flanigan of Chaffee, Mo., received a Missouri Assessment Program Scholarship.
* Daniel McElreath of Cape Girardeau received a President's Plus Scholarship.
* Jessica Mann of Jackson received a President's Scholarship.
The following Missouri high school students will be recognized for scholarships from the SEMO Electric Cooperative Board today at its annual meeting at the Sikeston Field House:
