Scholarships
The following students received scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University:
* Courtney N. Bentley of Scott City received the Regent's Scholarship for 2011-2012.
* Rebecca Michelson of Jackson received the Regent's Scholarship for 2011-2012.
* Ashley D. Robinson of Jackson received the Regent's Scholarship for 2011-2012.
* Victoria D. Schweer of Jackson received the Regent's Scholarship for 2011-2012.
* Dustin L. Owens of Jackson received the Community College Scholarship.
* Tara E. Grojean of New Hamburg, Mo., received the Regent's Scholarship for 2011-2012.
* Brooke D. Durham of Cape Girardeau received the Regent's Scholarship for 2011-2012.
* Audrey M. Camren of Benton, Mo., received the Regent's Scholarship for 2011-2012.
* Michelle M. Maevers of Jackson received the President's Scholarship and Missouri Leadership Award for 2011-2012.
* Laurie J. Clippard of Jackson received the Missouri Leadership Award for 2011-2012.
Honors, achievements
* Three Southeast Missouri State University marketing club students took high honors in the 2011 Collegiate DECA State Career Development Conference and Competition Feb. 17 and 18 at the Four Seasons Lodge in Lake Ozark, Mo. Ryan Maurer of Cape Girardeau won first place in the Retail Management Business Simulation Competition. Anita Lucious of Cape Girardeau and Astridia Dean of St. Louis won first place in the Business Law Case Competition. About 250 students from Missouri colleges and universities took part in the Lake Ozark competition. As part of its commitment to experiential learning, the Department of Management and Marketing in the Harrison College of Business has sponsored Collegiate DECA -- formerly known as Delta Epsilon Chi, or DEX -- for several years, and each year sends numerous participants to the state and international competitions. In the spring 2011 semester, membership climbed to 58, making the Southeast DECA chapter among the largest in Missouri.
