Scholarships

The following students received scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2010-2011 academic year:

* Christopher J. McCoy of Jackson received a Regents' Scholarship.

* Olivia M. Bradshaw of Scott City received a Regents' Scholarship.

* Taylor B. Mungle of Scott City received a Missouri Leadership Award.

Honors, achievements

* Nine Scheibe, Janna Trautwein and Josh Wen, seniors at Cape Girardeau Central High School, were named National Merit finalists. They are three of the 16,000 semifinalists nationwide announced in September. Scholarship winners will be announced in the spring.

* Theodore V. Towner of Cape Girardeau was named on the fall dean's list of Beloit College in Beloit, Wis.

* Heather N. Deisher of Cape Girardeau was named on the fall honor's roll of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va.

* Students from Trinity Lutheran School received first place at Lutheran Sports Association of Missouri's Academic Competition, a statewide event in January.

* Scott City School Family Career and Community Leaders of America students Brooke Dohogne, Chelsea Phillips, Morgan Brendel, Jenna Cummins, Courtney Bles, Missy Thomas, Ashley Kennedy and Rebecca Burger received gold recognition at the Regional STAR Events. They will compete at the FCCLA state conference in Columbia, Mo., in March.
