* The deadline to enter the American Legion-sponsored oratorical contests is Nov. 30. Local contest winners advance to the state championship, where four winners are selected. The winners are eligible for scholarships up to $2,000. Schools may select one student to compete. Selections can be submitted online at www.missourilegion.org.
